Ayeesha is a busy specialist family practitioner undertaking work in all areas of children, domestic violence and divorce cases (save financial provision). Ayeesha is very aware of the difficult and conflicting emotions clients may come to the family court with. She is particularly sensitive to religious and cultural elements of her cases.
Family
Ayeesha has acted in contested divorce and nullity proceedings. Ayeesha also has a particular interest in international children law and cases under the Forced Marriage Act 2007.
Child Law
Ayeesha is frequently instructed in public law children and adoption matters acting for Local Authorities, parents and Guardians. She has experience of acting at all stages of proceedings, from first, emergency hearings (including out of hours applications) to fact-findings and final hearings. Her cases have included cases of non-accidental injury, neglect, mental health problems, addictions and death of a child.
Ayeesha has extensive experience of private children cases including, contact, residence, shared residence, leave to remove, prohibited steps and specific issue orders. She regularly undertakes cases which feature a foreign element, allegations of domestic violence, or allegations of abuse.
Injunction/Domestic Violence
Ayeesha represents alleged victims and perpetrators of domestic violence at both ex parte and inter partes hearings as well as in committal proceedings. Ayeesha is also experienced in advising and representing clients seeking to regulate the occupation of a family home (whether by transfer of tenancy or occupations order).
Ayeesha is a qualified Public Access barrister.
