David specialises in family law. He acts and advises in all areas of:

  • private law, including contact, residence, leave to remove and related committal proceedings
  • special guardianship applications
  • public law care and adoption proceedings, in which he has acted for local authorities, parents and guardians
  • injunctions and domestic violence applications under the Family Law Act 1996, including occupation orders and transfers of tenancy, and related committal proceedings
  • matrimonial work and separation of cohabitants; he was involved in Stack v Dowden [2007] UKHL 17 concerning the property rights of cohabiting partners

 

OTHER EXPERIENCE

 

David came to the Bar after a successful career in local government.
