Ayeesha joined Chambers in 2008 following completion of a third-six pupillage. She has an interest in all aspects of family law.

 

CHILDREN CASES

 

Ayeesha has experience of acting for both parents and Local Authorities in public law and adoption cases, including emergency applications involving children.

During pupillage Ayeesha was involved in LM v Medway County Council, RM and YM [2007 1 FLR 1686] (children giving evidence in care proceedings), and cases involving allegations of sexual abuse, fractures in infants, and unexplained death of children.

Ayeesha acts in private law disputes as to contact, residence (including applications for leave to remove a child from the jurisdiction).

Ayeesha has acted in Hague Convention cases both ex-parte applications and inter parties hearings.

 

FINANCIAL CASES

 

Ayeesha has experience of acting in a range of ancillary relief matters and appreciates the difficulties that arise in both ‘big’ and ‘small’ money cases. Ayeesha has acted in cases involving non-disclosure of assets and where parties have assets outside the jurisdiction.

 

INJUNCTIONS/DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASES

 

Ayeesha has experience of acting in cases brought under the FLA 1996 for injunctive relief and committal proceedings arising from incidents of domestic violence.
