David specialises in both public and private areas of Family Law. He came to the Bar after a successful career in local government.

Children and Family

David acts and advises in all areas of:

Private law including contact, residence, leave to remove and related committal proceedings.

Special guardianship applications

Public law care and adoption proceedings in which he has acted for local authorities, parents and guardians.

Injunctions and domestic violence applications under the Family Law Act 1996, including occupation orders and transfers of tenancy, and related committal proceedings.

Matrimonial work and separation of cohabitants David was involved in Stack v Dowden [2007] UKHL 17 concerning the property rights of cohabiting partners.

David is a qualified Public Access barrister.
