Emma is a civil and public law practitioner with particular specialisms in housing, property and local government law. She undertakes advocacy, drafting and advisory work for a wide range of clients, including local authorities, private and public sector landlords and tenants, companies and individuals.

Emma also undertakes cases concerning adverse possession, mortgages and the priority of interests in land, rights of way, boundary disputes, and TLATA and Inheritance Act claims.

Public law and Local Government
Emma regularly acts in judicial review claims with a particular emphasis on housing and community care. She advises and appears in cases concerning the provision of assistance under s.17 Children Act 1989 and s.21 National Assistance Act 1948, including those where issues arise as to the applicant’s eligibility for assistance by virtue of Schedule 3 of the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002. Emma also appears in cases concerning age assessments of unaccompanied minors and public interest immunity applications in respect of social services files.

Emma is co-author of Tolley's Claims to the Possession of Land (5th Edition), a highly regarded loose-leaf practitioner text.
