Profile
Miriam is a busy civil practitioner whose areas of practice include: property and housing, employment, contract, professional negligence and probate. She regularly appears in the High Court, county courts and tribunals.
Miriam has taught Contract law at Kings College London and was a judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal where she gained experience in a broad range of civil appeal.
Trusts of Land
Having acted as second junior in the leading case of Stack v Dowden Miriam has represented parties and drafted pleadings in numerous cases concerning TLATA, occupation rent and equitable accounting. She has given several seminars on this area.
Landlord and Tenant
Miriam acts for both landlords and tenants in commercial and residential property matters including claims for possession, rights to succeed relief from forfeiture and damages for disrepair. She has experience of acting for local authorities as well as private clients. Miriam has given seminars on this area.
Employment
Miriam has acted for Claimants and Respondents in cases involving unfair dismissal, discrimination failure to pay minimum wage, unlawful deductions and wrongful dismissal.
Contract
As well as having taught at undergraduate level on this area of law Miriam has advised drafted proceedings and acted for clients in numerous cases involving aspects of contract law.
