It is our philosophy in advising our commercial clients to offer pragmatic advice in a facilitative manner. At the same time, in our advocacy, we recognise that their interests must be advanced or defended with the utmost skill, resolution and discretion.
Members of the Civil Practice Group have experience of a very wide variety of contractual, tortious and equitable claims of a commercial nature. Matters of Company and Insolvency law frequently arise whether concurrently or as free-standing problems in the commercial arena and members are also well-versed in these areas.
At the most senior level, for instance, members act in: commercial arbitrations, claims for breach of fiduciary duty by senior executives and for sporting bodies defending their governance functions.
In the middle ranks our expertise runs the gamut of commercial disputes from sale of goods, severance agreements, business sales and construction disputes, to partnership actions, licensing agreements and credit hire.
More junior practitioners are experienced in handling contractual claims allocated to the Fast and Small Claims Tracks.
Applications for urgent interim relief such as Freezing Orders, Search Orders and other forms of emergency injunctive intervention are regularly handled, as are applications for Security for Costs, Norwich Pharmacal orders and third party costs orders.
